Great images can really put a pleasant pause on the day. It happened for me recently while Google Image searching “evolution of a rocket”.

This clever, funky map helped me clear my head and daydream about upcoming travel plans. But it also got me thinking…who is the illustrator and where can I get a vector source file or print of it? And thus, the side track begins.

Step 1:

Try a ton of descriptive images searches. No dice.

Step 2:

Google “Where did this image come from?”

Result: Tin Eye (imagine wide eyes and elation knowing this tool exists)

Step 3:

Test it out – pasted in my link to the graphic. Voilà- it actually worked! In minutes I found the illustrator and his gallery contact.

Conclusion:

It’s 2011 and I don’t have a real robot or flying car nor have I been to outer space, but it’s still the little things that technology does to simplify random processes that wows me.
